What this SMTP test checks

The tester connects directly to the SMTP server and verifies the connection one stage at a time. In connection mode it stops after authentication. In send mode it proceeds through sender, recipient and message acceptance using a fixed test message.

Useful for

WordPress SMTP troubleshooting, transactional email services, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, hosting mailboxes and custom SMTP servers.

Common failures

Wrong port, TLS mismatch, invalid credentials, sender restrictions, relay denied errors, certificate problems and blocked outbound SMTP.

Privacy

The interface never prints your SMTP password in the transcript. Production deployments should also disable request-body logging at the web server or reverse-proxy layer.
